Buttons and navigation wheel

 

These keys generate pulses to the motherboard components. The navigation wheel is a rotating push button switch wheel. The associated scroll wheel circuit pulses when pressed and generates a pair of digitally encoded quadrature signals whose relative amplitude and polarity represent the angular position of the scroll wheel. These outputs are connected to the microprocessor and interpreted as required by the function involved. Successive angular positions determine the direction of wheel rotation. In addition to the functions performed with the keys, the scroll wheel also operates with the display to select menus and parameter variable lists
