When Tri-cone Drilling Tools work at the bottom of the well, the
impact and crushing action of the teeth on the rock is generated by
the resonance of the drill bit, which is the main way for the cone
bit to break the rock. When drilling, the drill bit resonates at
the bottom of the well, causing the drill string to continuously
compress and stretch. The lower drill string transmits this
periodic elastic deformation to the teeth, which is the source of
impact pressure when the drill bit breaks the rock.
