Gangway tower is a kind of marine access gangway for operators and crews to pass through ship and jetty safely in the process of oil tanker's berthing at habour. It is instead of traditional boarding device.
 

To speed up the loading and unloading process and to ensure the safety of the loaders and crews, it is necessary to replace traditional ladder with gangway tower and gangway column.

The boarding ladder consists of a standing column, telescopic ladder and other supplementary constructions. The telescopic ladder has the function of moving up and down, bending, slewing and the adjustment of the front ladder.

Mechanical or hydraulic drive system is usually used as drive system for Gangway Tower. The hydraulic cylinder drives the main ladder and front ladder for the luffing and slewing. The slewing cylinder could be floating after connected with ship without counterweight.

Many kinds of safe protector can be set according to client’s requirement in order to ensure the normal work of transmission mechanism. Explosive-proof electric-device can also be used base on the flash point of the oil.

Inspection and acceptance test can be done by customer or well known survey company (Bureau Veritas, SGS, Lloyd's register, Det Norske Veritas etc.

• Hydraulic control telescopic ladder
• Self-levelling steps adopting four-link mechanism, steps will keep in horizontal when the ladder changing in a range of minus 45 degrees to 60 degrees.
• Hydraulic control luffing and rotating system, 180 degrees rotation
• Wireless remote control
• The triangle ladder and front ladder are connected with single point, so that the land wheel under triangle will still keep contacting with deck steadily and will not be influenced by bump of ship.
• Bespoke jib crane install on the top of gangway.
