Fault Locators are a special class of light soures that emit a high intensity visible Red Laser into a patch cord or cable. This light can be used to both check the continuity of a fiber and identify the fiber’s far end, or it can be used to visually identify the location of a fiber break. Most Fault Locators come optimized for singlemode fiber use; however they worke equally as well with multimode fiber.
