Description:

PCBN (polycrystalline cubic boron nitride ) is new super hard material, which is a composite of CBN(cubic boron nitride) under the high voltage and high temperature.  high temperature and high pressure during the manufacturing process to obtain the finished solid CBN inserts, firstly HBN powder is transformed to CBN powder, then CBN powder plus bond transformed to PCBN, so the finished solid CBN inserts have the best heat absorption capacity and can work at highest temperatures.It has the same hardness, thermal stability, thermal conductivity and good impact resistance as CBN, it is the most ideal cutting tool for machining ferrous metal due to its  high toughness, abrasion resistance and heat resistance characteristics.

Application: 

Solid PCBN inserts are used for rough and fine machining cast iron, grey cast iron, brake disk, roller, high nickel-chromium, super finishing of Hardened Steel,Chilled Steel, Bearing Steel, Die Steel Gauge Steel, Tool Steel, High Steel, etc. continuous and interrupted turning HRC50-64, HRC45-68 hardened steel, nodular cast iron, pearlite grey cast iron, bearing steel, tungsten carbide, hard roller and sintered alloy. Powder metallurgy work-piece,thermal spray coating work-piece etc.

Features: 

1) The solid CBN insert has high hardness and abrasive resistance. The hardness of PCBN blanks reaches 3,000 to 5,000HV, so the PCBN cutting tool has high abrasive resistance. The abrasive resistance of PCBN cutting tool is 50 times that of tungsten carbide cutting tool, 30 times that of coating tungsten carbide cutting tool, and 25 times that of ceramic cutting tool.

2) With high thermo stability and high heat resistance, the solid CBN insert can bear temperature as high as 1400 to 1500°C. Under high temperature, PCBN cutting tool shows good thermo stability and red hardness.

3) High chemical stability. The solid CBN insertfeatures high oxidation resistance. It still will not be oxidized under the temperature of 1000°C. Even under 1200 to 1300°C, the solid CBN insert will not react to iron series materials.

4) Good heat conductivity. The heat conduction coefficient of PCBN material is lower than that of diamonds, but it is higher than that of tungsten carbide.

5) Low friction coefficient. The friction coefficient of PCBN is only 0.1 to 0.3, while that of tungsten carbide is 0.4 to 0.6. Maching Hardened steel, Gray cast iron, powder metal etc. Suitable for interrupted and rough cutting.
