At the beginning, when I conceived the overall framework of the work, I mainly considered two points: First, how to express the glorious achievements of the Communist Party of China through the Party flag, reflecting the magnificent development process of the party under the difficult and difficult historical background; The second point is to combine the sense of eternity, solidification and monument of "Flag" with the sense of flying and movement, so that this Party flag is not only a monument showing the centennial struggle of the Communist Party of China, but also a flag calling all the sons and daughters of China to continue to move forward. Therefore, how to express history artistically and create an artistic work that meets the requirements of the Party flag and reflects the spirit of the Chinese nation has become the biggest difficulty in creation.

When sorting out the creative ideas, I refined two key words: figurative and abstract. The creation of "Flag" is a process of changing from concrete to abstract and then to concrete, a process of transforming ideas and beliefs into visual shapes, sublimating them into lofty beliefs through shapes, and then strengthening this belief. At the same time, it is also a process of transforming the public's cognition of the Party flag into an artistic image, and then starting from this artistic image, restoring cognition in the form of sculpture. Therefore, in the process of revising the draft, I finally decided that the monument and the flag coexist, the sense of eternity and the sense of movement coexist, that is, the static and the movement are contained in it, and it is realized through the slope of the line, the curvature of the arc, the curvature of the surface, etc.

Artistic expression: Use lines to interpret the connotation

I have been thinking about how to use the relationship between line and surface to make the flag in the light to form a floating and powerful image. For this reason, we deliberately designed the front line of the flag to be tilted, because the tilt itself creates a sense of movement, and the upper arc has a sense of floating. Not only that, I also designed and painted the flag surface, through the combination of lines and surfaces, so that it presents the artistic effect of flying in the wind. The curve and wave of the flag represent the eventful years of the party. The sculpture should also reflect the sense of weight and three-dimensional, I especially designed the flag along the slope, through the slope, this solemn and weighty monument to each viewer.

FRP, also known as FRP, is known as fiber reinforced plastic. It is a composite material composed of synthetic resin as matrix material and glass fiber and its products as reinforcement material.
