4040 FR Low Pressure Water Purifier of Reverse Osmosis RO Membrane
The anti-fouling membrane element adopts a unique process, which changes the membrane surface and increases the hydrophilicity of the membrane surface. Membrane Dimentions
RO membranes, in general, remove 90% or more of the contaminants present in the water, including TDS. When the TDS levels of your water source changes, it will affect the quality of the purified water output from your reverse osmosis system.
Even though in most circumstances the majority of the dissolved solids in water is salt, the S in TDS stands for solids, and not just salt. A reverse osmosis system uses a semi-permeable membrane to reject dissolved solids and other impurities from water.
There are several possible causes of a high TDS reading from water that's been purified by reverse osmosis: The quality of the water source has changed. The post-filter is adding minerals to the purified water. The rejected water is being re-used (applies to countertop RO systems). The reverse osmosis membrane needs to be replaced.
