Virtual LAN functions can be used through switches/directors to improve device and network performance. Each AP 6521 access point can be virtualized into four different VLANs. VLAN can guide broadcast traffic to target recipients through customization. This reduces the total network traffic, and improves the device performance and battery life by up to 25%. In addition, this also reduces the total number of access points required to provide unique device services.
