ACQ is a kind of water-soluble wood preservative that integrated by
copper and quaternary ammonium salt. Based on the rising
requirements of the Environmental Protection, it has replaced CCA
and become the mainstream of the wood preservatives. The difference
between ACQ and CCA lies in that ACQ contains no harmful substances
(such as arsenic, Cr that contained in CCA). In Japan, United
States and European countries, it is ban to use such as CCA Wood
preservative and related wood.
The copper and quaternary ammonium contained in CCA can effectively
inhibit and kill the fungi, termites and borers. It can hang
together with wood fiber solidly and cannot easily to loss. It
plays a long-term protection for timbers. The usage span can reach
more than 40 years. As for Australia standards, it can be used
against H5 timber grading; through the CCA-treated wood can be used
in fresh water. In the H5 Required Environment, there exists
serious decadent and moth-eaten situation.
ACQ wood preservation applies to the various environments such as
indoor and external grounding. It has been widely used in: wooden
house, outdoor furniture, wooden trestle, paths, wood flooring,
fencing, recreational facilities, stairs, walkways, docks, swimming
pools, and the various types of horticulture materials.
The treated wood turns out light green, and slowly become warm
brown after used for a period of time, and without effect on
painting and coloring. The worker is no need of special protection,
and the pieces can be used as daily garbage.
The timber treated by ACQ can meet the timber protection treatment
as well as environmental protection requirement. In the use of
CCA-treated wood into living environment, we can shake off the cold
from steel and cement. More close to the nature and enjoy a high
quality and healthy life.
