NRCan Certification,Detailed interpretation of Canada’s NRCan energy efficiency certification
Natural Resource Canada (NRCAN):
NRCan is the Natural Resources Council of Canada. Canada's Energy
Efficiency Act (Act) and Energy Efficiency Regulations
(Regulations) will target household appliances, commercial
refrigeration equipment, electronic products (battery chargers,
compact audio products, external power supplies, Mandatory energy
efficiency certification programs for televisions, video products),
heating and air conditioning equipment, industrial/commercial
equipment, lighting products, and water heater products.
Since 2014, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and the U.S. Department of Energy (US DOE) have worked together to adapt new and updated energy efficiency standards and testing methods for energy-consuming consumer products and equipment.
Natural Resource Canada (NRCAN): Natural Resource Canada is
responsible for the formulation of energy efficiency regulations in
Canada. Products within the scope of NRCAN control must be tested,
certified, and registered by a certification body recognized by
Canada. There are also relevant annual fees and applications for
basic control of a single model. List of Canadian NRCAN issuing
