What is Shirataki Konjac Noodles?


As you can guess from the name, Shirataki noodles originated in Japan. They are made from konjac root and are also called sweet potato or devil's tongue. They have a gel-like texture and are a good source of dietary fiber glucomannan.
When making noodles, glucomannan fiber is extracted from the konjac root and mixed with water and lime water. This produces a gelatinous substance called konnyaku, which can be made into noodle-like or rice-like substances.
97% of the finished noodles is water, 3% is indigestible fiber, and is zero-calorie noodles.

Konjac(Amorphothallus Konjac.k), which is also called JURUO in Chinese, is a kind of araceae perennial herb. It is mainly growing in the subtropical mountains and the hilly area at an altitude of more than 800 meters which is far from the industrial pollution,so it is 100 % natural.
