H13 Tool Steel is a high hot-wear resistance and great strength, warm conductivity air hardening and invulnerability to hot cracking. It has a great resistance to abrasion at each low and high temperature due to presence of high Vanadium. The high level of toughness and ductility made it a popular material for die casting in the cold heading field.
H13 have Uniform and high level of machinability and polish ability. Good high-temperature strength and resistance to thermal fatigue, glorious through-hardening properties are making H13 steel very limited distortion during hardening. H13 tool steel is extensively used for aluminum, magnesium and zinc die casting. It has an outstanding impact on strength to resist cleavage cracking, size changing character, easy to machine and can be water cooled in service.
H13 contains 5% chromium die steel, that gives a wide range of application in hot work and cold word. Hot work applications are in shear knives, dummy block extrusion. Cold works are used in inserting, punching and heading of die blocks. It is observed that, Cold work applications are increased by using H13. Excellent toughness is the best quality of H13.

 
H13 Steel Properties

High hot-wear resistance and hot tensile strength as well as good toughness, thermal conductivity and insusceptibility to hotcracking. Can be water-cooled to a limited extent.

This grade is especially used for ejector pins, tool holders and shrink work chucks.It is wide used for manufacture of casting dies, extrusion dies and forging dies.
