Application
According to TMC (the ATA's Technology and Maintenance Council)
Recommended Practice RP1226 Messaging Standardization, some 2019
and newer heavy trucks such as Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, Mack and
Freightliner in North America are equipped with an Accessory
Connector in the cab on the driver’s side behind dash, near the
fuse panel. The truck owner can check the Body Builder Manual for
more information.
ELD (Electronic Logging Devices), telematics devices or other
aftermarket devices that require data from J1939, CAN or J1708
should be connected to this RP1226 Accessory Connector. Otherwise,
the connections may not be warrantable.
