The meaning of tailings treatment.
The ore mined from a metal or non-metal mine is a tailings that is
produced by a concentrator after the selection of a valuable
concentrate and that has no use value under the current technical
conditions. These tailings are not only large in number, but may
also contain useful ingredients that are temporarily unavailable.
If any emissions are not only a waste of mineral resources, but
also cover a large area of farmland and block the river. Most of
the tailings contain heavy metals, sulfur, arsenic and other
contaminants and the mineral processing agents left in the sorting,
which will cause significant pollution to the environment and
affect the growth of humans, animals and crops. Therefore, tailings
must be properly disposed of. Although tailings is the waste
generated during the beneficiation and smelting process, it is also
a potential secondary resource. With the increasingly scarce
resources and rising metal prices, tailings have great reuse value.
The tailings sludge filter press is mainly used to treat the sludge and mud produced by the tailings, remove the water, and press the sludge into a mud cake with a low water content. It has been widely used in iron ore and copper mines. The dewatering section of the gold mine tailings treatment has the characteristics of high efficiency and filter biscuits.
Membrane filter press is achieved by compressed air or water twice press to further reduce the moisture content of the cake, the cake moisture content for use on the strict requirements of the situation, and the need for drying the cake through the membrane filter press secondary crushing machine to minimize cake moisture content, thereby reducing energy consumption.
Membrane filter press consists of membrane plate and filter chamber made of ordered filter plates. The slurry materials are sent to filter chamber by the pressure of feeding pump and then go into filtrating media(filter cloth) to separate solid and liquid in slurry material.When solid in slurry material becomes cake shape, air is sent to membrane to fully squeeze the solid to reduce moisture content. If users have high requirement about filtration of sticky material and moisture content ratio, this machine has its own special characteristics to meet the need.
Membrane plates are constructed in the same basic method as the recessed chamber plates. The drainage surface of the plates, however, are flexible. After filtration, when the chambers are filled with solids and while the filter press is stilled, air pressure is exerted behind the flexible drainage of the plate. The membrane in turn inflates to exert pressure on the filter cake which have been formed. The cakes are then squeezed to reduce the amount of remaining moisture prior to cake discharge
This membrane filter press however, can be stopped at the most efficient point in its cycle. By applying pressure to the membrane built into the filter plate, the cake is squeezed to achieve final solids content in a significantly reduced cycle time.
Description of the membrnae filter press,
1. Beam, High quality carbon steel Q345 and processed with sand blasting to remove rust and oxide skin, then painted by epoxy primer to get higher intensity and corrosion resistance.
2. Plate, TPE with acid & alkali resistance, anticorrosion, innocuity, tasteless,light weight and high strength.
3. Feeding type, Center feeding.
