Air spring components
Air fitting: A tapped hole allowing for the spring to be fed from
the air compressor
Nut/bolt/mount: The method for attaching the air spring to the
component. Some air springs incorporate a bolt and air fitting
combination device.
Bead plate: Crimped metal plate enclosing the spring and allowing
attachment. This is typically forged steel, cast zinc alloy or cast
aluminum.
Bellows: The physical, multi-layer material withholding the
compressed gas. Usually made of neoprene or rubber.
Girdle: Only found in air springs of convoluted design, separating
the bellows chambers.
Bumper: An optional layer of padding protecting the piston from
damage if the air spring fails.
Characteristics of rubber air spring
Low natural frequency;
low stiffness;
good damping;
Height adjustable.
When the air spring is in use, it must be equipped with an air
source to ensure the stability of its internal pressure.
Production Process
1. Rubber mixing
2. Cord calendering
The calendering process is the process of using a calender to cover
the surface of the textile with the compounded rubber material and
penetrate into the gaps in the fabric, so that the rubber material
and the textile are closely combined to form a rubber cord.
3. Film calendering
The film required for air spring production is generally rolled by
a three-roller calender. The heat-smelted rubber is pressed into a
thin sheet with a certain thickness by three rolls, and rolled into
a roll after being cooled by the conveyor belt. The width of the
film is generally on the roller. The width of the cutting edge is
fixed, and the edge is no longer cut when forming.
4. Rubber cord cutting
It is to cut the rubber cord fabric into single pieces according to
a certain angle and width, and then curl the joints into rolls for
molding. There are two ways to joint the curtain, one is the
automatic joint of the joint machine, and the other is the manual
joint.
5. Air spring forming
The process of combining rubber parts and other parts into
semi-finished products according to design requirements on special
equipment and forming drums.
