Ferro manganese is an alloy composed of manganese and iron. Ferro manganese is classified into three categories according to its carbon content:
--low carbon: carbon is not more than 0.7%;
--medium carbon: carbon is not more than 0.7% to 2.0%;
--high carbon: carbon is not more than 2.0% to 8.0%.
Applications:
1. Used in steel making as deoxidizing agent .
2. Desulfurize and decrease the harmfulness of sulfur. So when we make steel and cast iron, we always need certain account of manganese.
3.An important kind of alloying constituent to be widely applied to alloy steel, such as structural steel, tool steel, stainless and heat-resistant steel and abrasion-resistant steel.
