Coating weight of Galfan Gabion
The coating weight applied is equivalent to the coating weights specified in BS443 for zinc coating before fabrication. The coating is applied to the wire prior to fabrication and goes through a wiping process which gives it a smooth coating as opposed to the hot dip process after manufacture (BS729). Claims of heavier minimum coating weights should be viewed with caution as they are difficult to achieve with any consistency.
Gabions baskets are wire containers made of hexagonal or square wire netting. Wire diameter varies with the nettings.
Un-PVC coated, the wire diameter ranges from 2.0mm to 4.0mm.
PVC coated hexagonal wire netting, the outside diameter ranges from 3.0mm to 4.0mm.
The wire of the outside frame edge is one wire gauge thicker than the wire used for hexagonal wire netting
Advantages of Galfan Gabion:
Galfan gabion mesh has a high corrosion resistance performance,
which is about 2-3 times higher than that of the commongalvanized
gabion mesh under any conditions whether in the open air or in damp
environment.
It has a high ductility and deformability. The galfan steel wire
can withstand the test of winding and twisting under powerful
deformation processes, and the zinc coating will not peel off.
