Energy Saving Electromagnetic Induction Heating Furnace For Melting
Platinum
INDUCTION MELTING FURNACE:
Induction melting is a process in which an induction melting
furnace is used to heat a metal to its melting point. Metal to be
melted is usually placed in a crucible and heated with induction to
its melting point. Metals like gold, silver, copper or special
alloys, both ferrous and non-ferrous, can be melted in an induction
furnace. Induction melting is cleaner and more flexible than
conventional foundry methods.
Induction furnaces use electromagnetic induction to generate heat
in a crucible, melting the platinum. These furnaces are efficient
and can reach the high temperatures required for platinum melting.
The platinum melting point is approximately 1,768 degrees Celsius
or 3,214 degrees Fahrenheit. Platinum is a precious metal with a
high melting point, making it useful in various industrial
applications and jewelry manufacturing.
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS:
- Medium frequency induction heating machine adopts solid state IGBT
frequency conversion control technologies, it has all kinds of
protection control, giving signal under conditions of overcurrent,
water shortage, overheating, over-voltage, short circuit, and phase
missing, as a result, the reliability is greatly enhanced.
- It has the function display of current, voltage, and timing, making
the working condition easily perceived, and giving guidance to
induction coil design, and capacitance control.
- Small size, lightweight, requires no more than 1 sqm, and movable.
- Continuously beating ability for 24 hours.
- Low power consumption, with electromagnetic grinding capability,
providing uniform smelting.
- Better heating penetration and even temperature inside the melting
metal.
- According to equipment power and melting weight, generally melting
time 30~50Minutes/furnace. When the furnace fully cooling, the
heating time 50~60Minutes.When the furnace hot, the heating time
20~30Minutes.

THE ADVANTAGES OF THE INDUCTION MELTING FURNACE COMPARED WITH OTHER
EQUIPMENT MELTING:
1. VS resistance heated furnace
- High heat efficiency, melting fast.
- Small size, save energy 30%.
- Resistance or silicon carbide stock is easy to damage.
2. VS Coal, Gas, Diesel furnace
- Facilitate the adjustment solution composition and temperature, the
bubble of foundry less 1/3 to 1/4, reject rate down 1/2 to 2/3, so
that cast have a higher mechanical strength;)
- Reduced the oxidation of burning;
- Induction melting can melt a scrap of processing and the small
pieces because of its electromagnetic stirring effect .reducing the
cost of materials. Reduce environmental pollution; noise is far
below the towering equipment. The labor intensity of workers and
working conditions have been improved;
- Cast-iron crucible used in Coal and gas furnaces is harmful to the
aluminum alloy by increasing impurity. Graphite crucible used in
induction melting without such disadvantages.)
3. VS SCR or Frequency Melting Furnace
- High heat efficiency, melting fast.
- Small size, save energy by above 20%.
- The electromagnetic stirring effect is slight so the service life
of the crucible is extended.
- By adjusting the frequency to achieve power regulation, so melting
speed is fast, and material elements burning lose less and better
energy saving, in particular the heating of stainless steel,
copper, silicon, aluminum, and other non-magnetic material, thus
reducing the cost of the casting.
Using a platinum melting induction furnace offers several advantages over traditional melting methods. Here
are some key advantages:
Energy Efficiency: Platinum melting induction furnaces are highly energy-efficient
due to their precise and targeted heating capabilities. They use
electromagnetic induction to generate heat directly within the
metal, resulting in minimal heat loss. This efficiency translates
into cost savings and reduced energy consumption compared to other
melting techniques.
Rapid Heating: GY Induction furnaces can achieve extremely high heating rates,
such as 2000°C in 1 minute. This rapid heating not only saves time
but also helps preserve the quality of the metal by minimizing
exposure to excessive heat.
Controlled Heating and Temperature: Induction furnaces provide precise temperature control during the
melting process. By adding a pyrometer function, operators can
achieve accurate and consistent heating, ensuring optimal melting
conditions for platinum. This level of control helps prevent
overheating or underheating, reducing the risk of damage to the
metal.
Clean and Environmentally Friendly: Induction melting is a clean and environmentally friendly process.
It does not involve burning fossil fuels or producing harmful
emissions. Additionally, induction furnaces do not generate smoke,
dust, or fumes during the melting process, creating a safer and
healthier working environment.
Increased Productivity: Platinum melting induction furnaces offer enhanced productivity
due to their rapid heating and controlled temperature capabilities.
They enable continuous melting and can handle large-scale material
efficiently. The quick cycle time and precise temperature control
increase production rates and improve overall workflow.
Various heating applications: Induction furnaces are versatile and can accommodate various
metals, including platinum and other precious metals, such as gold.
They can be used for various applications, such as melting,
casting, and annealing. This versatility makes our induction
heating machines suitable for different industries, including
jewelry, automotive, aerospace, and electronics.
Improved Metal Quality: Induction melting helps maintain the quality of platinum by
minimizing exposure to contaminants. The absence of combustion
by-products, such as sulfur or carbon, reduces the risk of
impurities in the melted metal. The controlled heating and uniform
temperature distribution also contribute to better metallurgical
properties and homogeneity of the final product.
