A zirconia oxygen analyzer is a device that measures the concentration of oxygen in a gas sample. Zirconia oxygen analyzers are used in a variety of applications, including environmental monitoring, industrial process control, and medical diagnostics.
Zirconia oxygen analyzers work by measuring the change in
electrical resistance of a zirconia ceramic sensor as the oxygen
concentration changes. The sensor is heated to a high temperature,
and the oxygen molecules in the gas sample react with the zirconia
to form a new compound. This change in chemical composition causes
the sensor to change its electrical resistance.
The electrical resistance of the sensor is measured by a Wheatstone
bridge circuit. The output of the Wheatstone bridge circuit is
proportional to the oxygen concentration in the gas sample.
Zirconia oxygen analyzers are accurate and reliable, and they are
relatively inexpensive to operate. However, they can be affected by
the presence of other gases, such as carbon monoxide and hydrogen
sulfide.
