addition of zinc acts as a protective buffer between the steel and
any moisture or oxygen. Galvanized steel is very protective,
including sharp corners and recesses that couldn't be protected
with other coatings, making it resistant to damage. The zinc coating of hot-dipped galvanized steel will last in the
harshest soil is 35 to 50 years and in less corrosive soil 75 years
or more. Although humidity affects corrosion, temperature itself
