A Force Sensor is a transducer that converts mechanical load into mV signal proportional to the applied force.The acting force causes deformation of the measuring element,the bonded strain gage deforms accordingly which will cause the resistance change of the wheatstone bridge,under constant power supply, the output signal between Sig+ and Sig- will change proportionally,thus the load/force can be measured by measuring the output signal from the transducer.

Output signal of load cell and amplifier:
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output of Flanged Force Transducer FFG is normally around 2.0mV/V.
Power supply of Flange Type Force Sensor FFG is normally within 3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output range of Traction/Compression Force Sensor FFG is normally within -30mV…+30mV.
Example one: Tensile Compressive Force Transducer FFG-50N with 2.0mV/V sensitivity powered by 10V DC,the output range is -20mV...+20mV.
Example two: Tension And Compression Load Cell FFG-20N with 2.0mV/V rated output powered by 5V DC,the output range is -10mV...+10mV.

200N_Compression_Force_Transducer_500N

The mV/V output from the wheatstone bridge sometimes can hardly be processed directly, a signal conditioner can be used with the load cell to deliver -5~5V, 0-10V or 4-20mA output.
Example one: Flange Type Tension Compression Sensor FFG-100N working with amplifier FSC(-10-10V)-24V,the Load-Voltage relationship will be 0-100N compression force VS 0-10V output, 0-100N tensile force VS 0-(-10V) output, which is linear regardless of the measurement error, 1V output corresponds to 10N compressive load, (-2V) output corresponds to 20N tension load, and so on.
Example two: Cylindrical Tension and Compression Load Cell FFG-1kN working with amplifier FSC(4-12-20mA)-24V,the Force-Current relationship will be 0-1kN compression force VS 12-20mA output, 0-1kN tension force VS 12-4mA, which is linear regardless of the measurement error, 12mA output corresponds to “0” load, 12.8mA output corresponds to 100N compressive load, 8mA output corresponds to 500N tensile load, and so on.
