Low Temperature Carbon Steel Pipe Fittings

A420 WPL6 is wrought carbon steel for low-temperature service, so A420 WPL6 reducing pipe is suitable for low temperature conditions. It could work in the -50 degree F at lowest. It also can be used for pressure vessels. Low temperature carbon steel pipe fittings are better to connected with pipes, fittings or flanges which materials is also low temperature metal such as ASTM A333 Grade 6 or A350 LF2.

There are two ways to get the weight of steel pipe tee. The first one is the weight tee chart, which is easy and fast. And the second is using calculation formula, which is suit for some special sizes.

 How to Calculate Pipe Tee Weight

  • Buttweld Tee Weight Formula: 0.02466*(S+1.5)*[D-(S+1.5)]*(3C-D/2)/1000
  • S= wall thickness in mm
  • D= outside diameter in mm
  • C= length*[out diameter-(thickness+2)]*(thickness*2)*0.02466*length, the unit is mm, too.

Differences Between Carbon Steel And Low Temperature Carbon Steel

Low temperature carbon steels are low to medium carbon, high manganese, silicon steels with fine grain structure and uniform carbide dispersion.

Carbon steel usually no minimum content is specified or required for elements like chromium, molybdenum and nickel.
