The advantages of heat treatment process of stainless steel elbow are as follows:
1. The preheating of stainless steel elbow is helpful to reduce the large hardness of medium carbon steel heat affected zone and prevent cold cracking. This is the main process measure for welding medium carbon steel. Preheating can also improve the plasticity of welded joints and reduce the residual stress after welding.
2. Generally, when the preheating temperature of 35 and 45 steel is 150~250 ℃, due to the relationship between thickness and stiffness, if the carbon content is good or the crack tendency is large, the preheating temperature can be increased to 250~400 ℃.
3. If the weldment is too large and the overall preheating is difficult, local preheating can be carried out. The heating range of local preheating on both sides of the weld is 150~200mm. When conditions permit, alkaline electricity should be used.
4. In the form of groove, U-shaped groove welding shall be adopted for weldments as far as possible. If it is a casting defect, the groove excavated with a shovel shall be smooth. The purpose is to reduce the proportion of base metal melted into weld metal, so as to reduce the carbon content in the weld and prevent cracks.
5. Post weld heat treatment is a good method to remove stress immediately after welding, especially for weldments with large thickness, good stiffness and poor working conditions (dynamic load or impact load). The tempering temperature for removing stress is 600~650 ℃.

Alloy bends are used in different places. For example, alloy bends made of manganese steel are usually used in concrete transmission pipelines, mud transmission pipelines and other pipelines with serious wear consumption because of their excellent performance of withstanding impact, extrusion, material wear, etc. The high manganese steel alloy elbow is used in the pipeline where the fluid flow is relatively intense and the impact is relatively strong; Alloy bends made of nickel steel are usually used in normal temperature transmission pipelines with high concentration of oxidizing acid (nitric acid, sulfuric acid), but will be severely corroded in transmission pipelines with reducing acid (hydrochloric acid, dilute sulfuric acid, etc.), unless the concentration of hydrochloric acid is very low; Martensitic alloy elbow has high high temperature strength, oxidation resistance and water vapor corrosion resistance below 650 ℃, but its weldability is poor. Therefore, it is often used in high-temperature steam transmission pipeline and water gas pipeline.
