This stovetop burner liner is high strength and heat resistant fiber glass fabric with a layer of food grade black (PTFE) coating. PTFE coating can resist a temperature between -70℃ to 260℃, max temperature can be 380℃. So it is totally safe to use this PTFE coated fiberglass fabric for gas range protectors. Production Of This Stovetop Burner Protectors?

Every single stovetop protectors on the market has certain features in common. All liners are made of the same materials – fiberglass fabric and different versions of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE). The process begins by coating the fiberglass fabric with a specially undercoat that will adhere to both the cloth and the PTFE coating. And some customers believe there is actually fiber glass in the mats but in fact it is wrong – just the woven cloth.

Then multiple layers of the PTFE coating are applied, building up a heavy coating as the non-stick and smooth surface. When the thickness you need is achieved, this material goes through a process named sintering which involves the application of high heat (780° Fahrenheit) for a few minutes. That’s it in a nutshell.
