Function:
Cattle from cows, steers, calves to bulls are immobilized through
electric rectal probe stunning. Safe electrical currents are
induced into the soft tissue of the animal causing temporary and
completely reversible paralysis of the muscle. Alternating between
muscle contraction and relaxation at high frequencies allows for
effective control of the beast while not inducing excessive muscle
fatigue or damage. In terms of safety, the cattle immobilizer
provides benefits over large animal anesthesia or the alternative
of having only crush or cradle restraint.
