What is inside a turbocharger?
A turbocharger consists of a compressor wheel and exhaust gas
turbine wheel coupled together by a solid shaft and that is
used to boost the intake air pressure of an internal
combustion engine. The exhaust gas turbine extracts energy
from the exhaust gas and uses it to drive the compressor and
overcome friction.
What's the difference between diesel and turbo diesel?
Turbochargers provide additional horsepower to your petrol-powered
engine. They do so by increasing the amount of air and fuel
that enters each combustion chamber. Meanwhile, diesel fuel
burns at a lower temperature. That causes it to create more
exhaust gas, but diesel engines also have higher compression
ratings.
