Welded Steel Grating (Metal bar grating) can be defined as a series of metal bars positioned vertically, placed an equal distance apart and joined by cross members to form a rectangular or reticuline pattern. Typically manufactured from mild carbon steel, 6000 series aluminum and 300 series stainless steels, bar gratings are also available in specialty metal alloys to suit nearly any application

BEARING BARS

The vertically positioned bars are designated as the bearing bars. These bars range in size from 3/4"x1/8" for light pedestrian traffic to 7"x1/2" for extreme vehicular loads. Typically, the spacing of the bearing bars is indicated in sixteenths of an inch, measured from the center of one bar to the center of the adjacent bar. This center-to-center or "on center" spacing ranges from 7/16" to 19/16"(1-3/16") on standard grating products. Standard gratings are also available with wider spacings providing even greater open area, but should not be specified without consulting the manufacturer. Heavy Duty grating products are commonly manufactured with bearing bar spacings ranging from 15/16" to 38/16"(2-3/8") on center.

CROSS BARS

The bars used to secure the position of the bearing bars are commonly designated as the cross bars. Cross bar profiles vary according to the method of assembly and material selected. As with bearing bars, cross bar spacing is measured as "on center" spacing. The customary cross bar spacing is 4" on center. On special order, 2" on center and other special spacings are also available.

A).Type of Grating

Specify the type of grating required by reference of our four main types of products: Plain steel grating, serrated steel grating, I bar steel grating.

B).Dimensions

-Nominate the size of bearing bar and cross bar.

-Nominate the pitch of bearing bar and cross bar.

-Nominate the size of the steel grating panel.

-Nominate whether banding is required.

-For non standard panels, nominate dimension for length and width of individual panels.

-Where large areas of flooring is to be covered, provide:

i) shop drawings of grating floor zone.

ii) detail drawings of beams, pillars and their joints.

iii) setting positions of stairs and procedures of stairs, railing piping and etc.

iv) sizes and locations of cutouts, kick plates and nosing.

-For stair threads, select from our ranges of standard types and nominate dimensions and quality. Our recommended length and widths should be nominated for economical orders.

Spacing of Bearing Bars

Bearing bar centers at 20mm:

This kind of fine mesh steel gratings have strong

load ability and also can prevent the access of

sundries of 18mm in diameter. This kind of gratings

fit for pedestrian deck, walkway and ditch covers

which require high security

This kind of steel grating is the most commonly used in projects with American, Australian, Japan standards are available. This kind of gratings are featured well by heavyduty, well resistance of strong impact on surface. this kind of steel grating fit for all kind of industrial platforms.

Bearing bar centers at 40mm:

Bearing bar centers at 60mm:

This kind of steel gratings are especially used for mining industries. It can solve the problem that mineral splashing down and stacks on the walkway. This product usually used for mineral miningand processing and it is the best choice for workshop, meeting room and suspended ceiling of stadium in terms of it's light weight.
