DESCRIPTION


 

ACM is a copolymer of acrylic esters and monomers, typically containing ethyl acrylates and/or butyl and oktyl acrylate, ethyl methoxi, or ethyloxi acrylates. These copolymers possess high resistance to oil, heat, aging, and ozone, though their tensile strength is inferior to NR and NBR. While new generation ACMs can operate at 150-1600C for up to 1000 hours, they tend to soften at high temperatures. Compared to other rubber compounds, except for FKM, ACM Vulcanisates are more resistant to expansion when exposed to animal fat, vegetable oil, and mineral oil, which decreases as temperature increases. ACM does not perform well with chemicals and is unsuitable for working under low temperatures and in water. Over 90% of ACM production is utilized in the automotive industry, where it is commonly used as shaft rubber in crankshafts, automatic and differential transmissions, as well as O-rings, valves, and oil hoses.
