Defibrillators training allow responders to practice fast and accurate defibrillation within a safe training environment.

Early Defibrillation is a key step in the Chain of Survival and practice will build confidence in administering it.

In-depth training in the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) is not currently part of either the Emergency First Aid at Work and First Aid at Work courses. because the defibrillator training instils greater confidence in the use of AEDs.

AED's are foolproof and even a lay person with no knowledge should be able to use it. However, evidence suggests that with minimal training you can use it far more efficiently and quickly.

AEDs are becoming more prevalent within the wider community. For example there are national strategies in place actively promoting their placement in schools; public places such as stations. Many workplaces have voluntarily invested in this equipment.

Evidence suggests that where AEDs have been used the outcomes are far more favourable for an individual who suffers from a heart attack than if it is delayed until the arrival of the emergency services.

We strongly believe that training in the use of defibrillators is massively beneficial to enhance the skills of the user for an emergency situation.
