How the wedge gate valve achieve seal?
The API 600 gate valve supplied by TEKO INDUSTRY is a typical wedge gate valve which uses two inclined seats and a slightly mismatched inclined gate that allows for tight shutoff, even against higher pressures. The inclined seats are designed 5° to 10° from the vertical plane, while the inclined gate can be designed with a close, but not exact angle. When the seat and gate angles are slightly mismatched, either the seat or gate is designed with some free movement to allow the seating surfaces to conform with each other as the hand-wheel or actuator force is applied. API 600 is the standard specification for steel gate valves with flanged or butt-welding ends and bolted bonnet which are designed for heavy duty applications such as petroleum refinery and related applications where corrosion, erosion and other severe service conditions would indicate a need for full port openings, heavy wall sections and large stem diameters.
How to select the operation mode?
Different actuation mode will be provided as requested, fully depending on the engineering specs or safety objectives and policies of the end-user.
In some cases Pneumatic Linear Actuators are the most efficient solution to operate the gate valves remotely.
When more control and diagnostics are needed electric or electro-hydraulic units are better equipped.
When electricity is the source of power, but Emergency Shut-Down is a must, the self-contained Electro-Hydraulic units are the perfect solution. The Electro-Hydraulic units generate the power of hydraulics without having the need of a hydraulic system at the location. The electric part makes for excellent controls and feedback signals through any kind of network.
Liquid Tank Terminals Applications (often gate-valves) o Linear – Pneumatic or Hydraulic Linear Cylinders (fail-safe Optional) strong and cost-effective solution for operating multi-turn valves. Electro-Hydraulic Fail-Safe – Electro-Hydraulic actuators provide fail-safe operation for higher torque requirements on multi-turn or quarter-turn valves. These units are powered by electricity which pumps the self-contained hydraulics to operate the actuators.
