Brazilian Acai, the fruit of acai palm, also called Euterpe
badiocarpa, E uterpe oleracea, Palmaceae, which is a small, round,
black-purple drupe about 1 inch (25 mm) in circumference, similar
in appearance to a grape, but smaller and with less pulp. A
powdered preparation of freeze-dried acai fruit was shown to
contain Polyphenols and Anthocyanidins.
