Beautiful Sikyatki Bowl by renowned Hopi artist Antoinette Honie.
7 1/4 inches tall with a 6 inch diameter
Hand coiled, polished the traditional way using a polishing stone,
painted using a yucca brush, then fired using the fuel of choice
(sheep dung) - traditional from start to finish.
As the pictures so clearly show, Antoinette Honie is a master at
decorating pottery with complex compositions including parrot tail
feathers, prayer feathers, scrolls, parrot beaks, kiva steps and
rain clouds.
