A copper-clad steel is a type ofs metallic material consisting of a steel core with a uniform layer of copper surrounding it. It can be used in vertical grounding electrode and is available in copper-clad steel bar, tape and wire (both round and stranded).
Copper-clad steel can be produced in two main different ways: through continuous casting and electroplating.
The Copper-clad-steel grounding material is an extremely cost effective option as it is much cheaper than using pure copper rods. It provides a uniform copper coating of high tensile strength which will not crack of take off when the conductor is bent.
