Composite decking has grown in popularity over the past several years. It is rapidly becoming a "must-have" outdoor product for all homes and businesses. Composite decking is an excellent alternative to traditional wood flooring, providing the appearance of natural wood with the added advantage of low maintenance. There are currently two types of composite decking on the market.
Composite decking without a cap is also referred to as the first generation of composite decking. The second generation of composite decking is capped composite decking. Both are produced by extrusion using a mixture of recycled plastic and wood fiber. However, capped composite decking is encased in a polymer shell for added protection. For decking projects, outdoor composite decking is an excellent option. Capped composite possesses many of the same qualities as other premium composite decking materials, including high resistance to rot, chipping, and warping. However, capped composite decking with a protective polymer shell is more popular among high-end deck manufacturers. In addition to the numerous advantages of composites, capped composite decking is more resistant to mold, water, and fading. This is the reason why capped composite decking is more expensive. The core of COOWIN® capped composite decking is completely covered by a polymer shield. Wood fibers, PE polymers, and additives compose the core. Composite decking from COOWIN is more durable and safer than wood decking. You can utilize any COOWIN® composite decking product with confidence. We will provide you with an outdoor deck of superior quality to conventional wood construction.

Capped composite decking is an enhanced version of the original product. It adds a polymer shell and a deep 3D embossed wood finish to the first generation of uncapped composite decking. The large, stiff molecules that cover the soft porous core reduce water absorption and allow the decking to last longer than the previous generation. Furthermore, it gives composite products a cleaner, more aesthetically pleasing finish. For the first few months, first-generation composite wood decking fades slightly, but the color remains consistent throughout. Capped composite decking is more resistant to fading and staining due to the polymer shell's protection. Capped composite decking, on the other hand, continues to provide excellent slip resistance. However, it is less slip-resistant than uncapped composite decking. As you might expect, this is due to its slightly slicker polymer (plastic) protective shell. If you want composite decking with high slip resistance, uncapped composite decking is the way to go. Foot grip is improved by composite decking with 3D wood grain or grooves. The polymer shell of Capped composite decking adds durability, scratch resistance, and abrasion resistance. UV inhibitors are also present in the capping. As a result, it lasts significantly longer than first-generation composite lumber decking. Both capped and uncapped composite decking are eco-friendly and provide exceptional value for your home. If you are thinking about constructing an outdoor project to add outdoor living space. COOWIN can assist you further.
