Swine Fever (CSFV Ab)Test, Rapid Diagnostic Kit High Sensitivity, VETERINARY Porcine Range

The CSFV Antibody Rapid Test Cassette is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of antibodies to Classical Swine Fever Virus in serum or plasma.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  • Fast results
  • Easy visually interpretation
  • Simple operation, no equipment required
  • High accuracy

Description:

The CSFV Antibody Rapid Test Cassette (Serum/Plasma) is a qualitative, membrane based immunoassay based on double antigen sandwich format for the detection of antibodies to Classical Swine Fever Virus in serum or plasma. The membrane is pre-coated with recombinant CSFV antigens.

During testing, antibodies to CSFV, if present in serum or plasma specimen react with the pre-coated CSFV antigen in the test strip. The mixture then migrates upward on the membrane chromatographically by capillary action and reacts with recombinant CSFV antigens on the membrane in the test line region. If the specimen contains antibodies to Classical Swine Fever Virus, a colored line will appear in the test line region indicating a positive result.

If the specimen does not contain Classical Swine Fever Virus antibodies, a colored line will not appear in the test line region indicating a negative result. To serve as a procedural control, a colored line will always appear in the control line region indicating that proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.

  • Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and use it as soon as possible. Best results will be obtained if the assay is performed within one hour.
  • Collect canine’s fresh whole blood, and separate serum or plasma from blood as soon as possible to avoid hemolysis. Only use clear, non-hemolyzed specimens. Do not leave the specimens at room temperature for prolonged periods. Serum and plasma specimens may be stored at 2-8 °C for up to 3 days. For long term storage, specimens should be kept below -20 °C.
  • Place the test cassette on a clean and level surface. Hold the dropper vertically and transfer 2 drop of serum or plasma (approximately 50μl) to the specimen well (S) of the test cassette, then start the timer. See illustration below.
  • Read the results at 10 minutes. Do not interpret results after 20 minutes.
INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS

Positive: The presence of both C line and T line, regardless of T line being strong or faint.
Negative: Only clear C line appears.
Invalid: No colored line appears in C line region, regardless of T line’s appearance.
