Bushings, or plain bearings, operate with sliding motion between the moving surfaces. Bushings are selected based on the rotating speed and the applied load. Most bushings do not require additional lubrication to operate.

 

 

Self-lubricating PTFE bronze composite bushings consist of a PTFE layer sintered on a brown strip. These bushings are corrosion resistant and suitable for high temperature applications that can be made without the use of oil requiring long duty cycles.

 

This type of self-lubricating bearing is used in the radial or axial direction, especially in the steel and cement industries. Self-lubricating PTFE-bronze composite bushings can be used in panels as bridge supports, since the thick sliding layer on the inner surface can withstand loads of up to 140 N / mm².

1. PTFE / Pb 0.01 ~ 0.03mm mixture, provides an excellent initial transfer film, which effectively covers the contact surface of the socket assembly, forming an oxide type solid lubricant film.
2. sintered bronze powder 0.20-0.35mm, provides max. thermal conductivity away from the bushing surface, also serves as a reservoir for the PTFE-lead mixture.

The Bronze Backed PTFE bushing is widely used in steel metallurgy in applications such as roller groove bushings of later casting machines, concrete injection pumps and screw conveyors for concrete. They can also be made of steel housings or be transformed into flanged bushings that can move in both radial and axial directions.

The Bronze Backed PTFE bushing is particularly suitable for high temperature environments where no oil is efficient and the machine must operate under consecutive long term conditions.
