Description

Innosilicon is a giant in the crypto mining industry. Founded in 2013, Innosilicon has over 12 years of experience in the research and development of IP/IC. Recently, Innosilicon produces Application Specific Integrated Circuit mining devices and has released multiple types. The miners work with different algorithms like Scrypt, X11, Equihash, SHA-256.

About A4+

The A4+ is another of Innosilicon's Scrypt mining devices. Equipped with a top hash rate of 620Mh/s and power consumption of 750W, the A4+ was the leader of its mining rig at the time of release. It is about three times more efficient and productive than its predecessor, the A4 Dominator, which has a hash rate of 28 Mh/s and power consumption of 1080W. Lately, Litecoin has become popular due to its algorithm and faster transactions. In response to that, Innosilicon released the A LTCMaster series, which contains the A4, A4+, A6, and A6+ models. These miners were explicitly made for mining Litecoin.

Specifications

The A4+ has a simple design with two fans at the front and rear. This design is in line with the standard design of earlier mining devices. The A4+ LTCMaster is ASIC supported, which means you can control the mining operations while away. The A4+ LTCMaster is quite different from other miners. Due to its unique algorithm, it can mine up to 84 coins. Its most profitable coin is Litecoin. In November 2017, Innosilicon released and started shipping the 14nm A4+ LTCMaster to succeed the A4 Dominator.

The A6 LTCMaster has quadrupled the previous generation's power efficiency, offering more than 8 Mh/s per chip with as low as 1.5W/Mh/s. This feature made the A4 LTCMaster the most profitable mining rig at the time. The A4+ LTCMaster is a customized device for optimized mining with an advanced 14nm process, which has a severe advantage over the previous 28nm nodes.

The device also comes with reliability features like automatic temperature and frequency control, DCDC-less auto onboard chip with a pass/fail/self-test. These features maximize device performance and reduce the risk of overheating. The A4+ continues the fantastic A2 Terminator in serving the mining community.

One feature miners love this device is because of its low power consumption. The LTCMaster has a power consumption of 750W, which is lower than A4+ LTCMaster's 1050W. High electricity costs won't affect miners' profitability. The pools associated with this miner include AntPool, F2Pool.

Algorithm

The A6 LTCMaster works with the Script algorithm. Litecoin is mined on the Scrypt algorithm. Scrypt is a hashing algorithm that is used on Proof of Work blockchains. It is a memory-hard key-derivation function. This kind of process requires a large quantity of RAM for computation. That means an ASIC chip used for computing Bitcoin's SHA-256 Proof of Work (PoW) would need to keep an amount of space for RAM instead of hashing power.

Fan and Cooling

The cooling method is an essential feature of ASIC miners due to the devices' high input and efficiency. Miners have the potential of overheating while working. Manufacturers like Innosilicon curb overheating by equipping miners with adequate cooling methods. The A4+ LTC Master has two 12cm 12C3.4A fans, one at the front and one at the back. This fan arrangement is like the previous miner's arrangement is quite efficient in reducing overheating.

Noise Level

Noise is an essential factor for getting a miner. If you are looking to buy the A6 LTCMaster for mining at home, the device can be quite noisy. In normal mining operations during the day, the measured noise about 20cm away from the device is 82dB. To better understand this, most miners come with standard 60 — 80dB noise levels. 80dB sound is equivalent to a city during the day. The miner is better used in mining farms.

Profitability

Profitability is the primary purpose of getting an ASIC miner. To accurately calculate the profitability of this device, you should deduct the electricity cost of the area. Also, market conditions affect miner profitability.
