In rolling mills, multi-row cylindrical roller bearings are used to accommodate radial loads in work roll and back-up roll bearing arrangements. Monton multi-row cylindrical roller bearings are particularly suitable for high rolling speeds and the heaviest rolling forces.

For highest accuracy demands, the inner rings in dedicated execution can be ground together with the roll body for exact run-out. Bearings with standard tolerances can be paired or special precision bearings can be used for equal load taking, especially for work rolls in thin strip and foil rolling mills.

Cylindrical roller bearings

 
Monton cylindrical roller bearings are available in many designs, series and sizes. The majority are single row bearings with a cage. High-capacity bearings, single and double row full complement bearings (without a cage) complete the Monton standard assortment.

Bearings with a cage can accommodate heavy radial loads, fast accelerations and high speeds. Full complement bearings incorporate a maximum number of rollers and are therefore suitable for very heavy radial loads at moderate speeds. Monton high-capacity cylindrical roller bearings combine the high load carrying capacity of a full complement bearing with the high speed capability of a bearing with a cage.

Backing bearings have been specially developed for cold rolling mills of the cluster type, but can also be used for other applications, e.g. straightening or bending machines.

Backing bearings are roller bearings having a particularly thick-walled outer ring and can be mounted on stationary support shafts to form back-up or straightening rolls. The forces from the work rolls are transmitted via the support shaft and a system of support saddles to the roll or machine stands.

Backing bearings for cluster mills are produced in many designs but are generally based on double or three-row cylindrical roller bearings. Single row needle roller bearing and double row tapered roller bearing designs are also available. The logarithmic contact profile between rollers and raceways produces a vastly improved stress distribution under all load conditions as well as when the bearing is misaligned under load. An optimised finish on all surfaces in contact serves to enhance lubrication conditions.

 

 

Character:

 

  1. The load is much higher than the normal bearings during working
  2. The working situation is very bad,when the roller cools, the oxide splash easily goes into the bearing
  3. The requirement for the bearing design and the accuracy is very high,the accuracy usually much be P4 higher.The different bearing section in the same shaft must be control to 0.005mm.

 

The material suggestion:

 

According to the Sendzimir rolling mill bearing character,the material is very important.For the three codes you inquired,we suggest to use the SKF6 or GCr18Mo for the outer ring,the roller and the inner ring use SKF 3 material.The bearings belong to the small size bearings in the backup bearings series,the inner ring is very thin we don’t suggest to use case harden material.On the other side,the rigidity of the inner ring is much lower compared with the roller or the outer ring in the backup bearing series,if we use the case harden material for the inner ring,due to the low hardness of the core case harden material,the bearings will be easily case elastic deformation and the bearings will be easily case Premature failure problem.

 

The heat treatment:

Use the world more advanced Aichelin furance to guarantee the high heat treatment level

The production:

 

The accuracy is P4

The rolling generatrix is a logarithmic curve, which improves the stress distribution under heavy load
